Being kind doesn't mean being soft. When we need to we speak out forcefully. It comes from not seeing "other" people as "them". We're all in this life together even though many don't realize this. Too many people stoke the fires of feelings of division which already exist.

As I've been tweeting all along about the many different factors involved, it's you & who directly stand in the way of preserving our democracy w/ your weak ,shameful, indefensible excuses for refusing to kill the filibuster.

NEW: GOP lawmakers gleefully urge activists to call and thank Senators Manchin and Sinema for blocking Biden agenda

if you're unwilling to kill or greatly alter the filibuster rules in the Senate then your "compromise" on the content of the For the People Act will mean nothing at all. This holds true for you too . Blocked voting rights are a "systemic injustice".

The Koch network has been actively pressuring Democrat to oppose key legislative items linked to Biden’s agenda, including filibuster reform & voting rights legislation. Seems to be paying off. He cosponsored a voting-rights bill in 2019.

Just a heads up to you . If you think you can hide behind supporting this while refusing to kill the filibuster you're gravely mistaken. Everyone knows what's truly up. And this won't just blow over in 2 wk. You'll be held accountable & will suffer the consequences

Here's a great article in The New Yorker on dark-money in politics. Koch and McConnell are terrified of the For the People Act and will do anything to defeat it. What influence do they have on Democratic Senators?

Earlier today: "There are plenty of things up for debate in America, but the right of all eligible Americans to vote is not one of them." Congress should pass the For the People Act & John Lewis Voting Rights Act to provide the DOJ with tools it needs. ~ AG Merrick Garland 👍✊💯

"On Jan. 6, we were all reminded in the starkest of terms that government of the people, by the people and for the people is not guaranteed. But a violent mob unleashed on the U.S. Capitol is not the only way to attack a democracy." 1/3

A little known powerful story abt. the WNBA player's role in helping get elected & thus changing our fate. We can't thank them enough. Their team was owned by Kelly Loeffler who they hated. They picked him to run against her.

Hesitated to retweet this, as I want to erase any images from my mind of you know who & his henchmen. But it's a powerful reminder of where we were & all we've been through. We need to act together, strongly & always, to make sure this is never ever repeated. 👍✊

4 Part Tweet w/ a very moving video at the end. On Fatherhood ~ My first and strongest lessons in selfless service & selflessness came from the love my Dad showed me. His greatest gift & the most important and precious one received probably from anyone. 💙 1/4

This is Matthew Cooke with the strongest, clearest, most powerful wakeup message to all the confused, deluded, rightwing people who have been brainwashed & indoctrinated, & have completely lost touch with reality. This needs to be shared with all of them. 👍✊

I figured this was worth a new tweet. The original getting a visit from the children he saved from the Nazis, decades later. If you haven't seen this by now..... You're welcome 😀
